Living Stones
Scientific Name: Lithops
Family: Aizoaceae
Lithops are a genus of succulents in the aizoaceae family. They are commonly called living stones due to their unique shape and size. Lithops are small, and very short. They consist of two halves, new lithops will sprout up from the center of the halves. They come in all different colors, and sometimes have bright ‘cracks’ on their surface. I have not read about an effective propagation method for these, and have found they are typically reproduced via seed. Seed kits can be purchased from amazon so you can try and grow your own! I have actually started growing some from seed myself, i will be writing a blog post about this soon so stay tuned for more, and feel free to ask any questions about this in the comments section! Thank you!
